Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma had praise for his FA Cup opponent Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United.
The Albion were beaten on penalties by United in the FA Cup semi final at Wembley on Sunday.
Mitoma, a Japanese international, was unable to impact the game from the left-wing, despite coming into the match in red hot form.
He stated post-game: "I regret that I didn't score a goal despite having a few chances to do so.
"And it's difficult to score penalties so I think I could have done something more before that.
"I also need to improve. [Wan-Bissaka] is a strong opponent ... this is what I thought while I was playing. But there were a lot of [times] where his legs stretched at the end or he got the ball back.
"I think it was a complete defeat."
