Premier League newcomers Brighton are aiming to sign Liverpool veteran Lucas Leiva in the summer, according to The Sun.

The 30-year-old, who came very close to quitting the Reds last summer, will be out of contract this summer, and he is expected to leave on a free transfer.

The Seagulls are preparing for their debut season in Premier League, and manager Chris Hughton believes that Lucas' experience can prove vital to his side next season.
