Brighton are confident of burning off competition from Leicester City for AZ Alkmaar attacker Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
The Mirror says Jahanbakhsh, 24, was top-scorer in Holland last season — despite playing out on the wing.
His agent, Amir Hashemi, said: “We are actually discussing a transfer, but I cannot say which team is involved, but it is not a Dutch club."
Jahanbakhsh, who scored 21 and added 12 assists as AZ finished third, has also been linked with West Ham and Serie A runners-up Napoli.
Seagulls boss Chris Hughton has already signed seven players this summer.
Leicester need a new winger, having sold title-season hero Riyad Mahrez to champions Manchester City for £60million.
