Brighton target Selke chooses Werder Bremen: England can wait

Davie Selke admits turning down English offers to sign with Werder Bremen.

Selke has left Hertha Berlin for Werder in a permanent deal, though was also being linked with Brighton.

"I wanted to give something back to Werder and that's why I didn't go to the Premier League," the 25-year-old striker told . “It's still a big wish of mine to play in England one day. But I just wanted Werder."

Selke explained: “It's the only club that means so much to me. Hertha BSC is a great club, Berlin is a great city. But I'm just grateful to Werder."
