Brighton striker Glenn Murray delighted with season start

Brighton striker Glenn Murray is delighted with their season start.

The Seagulls have taken four points from matches against Watford, Manchester United, Liverpool and Fulham, and the forward reflected on what has been a mixed bag of results for Chris Hughton's team.

He said, “After a disappointing start to the season, bouncing back with three good performances, two of which were against the so-called top six, and taking some points - I'm pleased with that.

“We were caught cold against Watford, and we thought they were above par at the time. But after the start they've had - they could be the real deal this season, the surprise package.

“Going to Anfield is quite a daunting task and we gave a very good account of ourselves, kept our shape and worked very hard. We could have taken something towards the end with a bit of luck.

“We took points against Manchester United - so despite the positive performance, the Liverpool result wasn't as important, because at the end of the day, we need to take points from as many games as possible."
