Brighton striker Aaron Connolly is set to join Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season.
The Republic of Ireland international has struggled for form and has only started one Premier League game this season for Graham Potter's side.
Brighton are happy to loan out Connolly who has not even made the bench in their last two league games – a 2-0 win against Brentford and an impressive 1-1 draw at Chelsea, says Sky Sports.
The south coast club's likely to resist calls from some pundits and fans and sign another striker in the window with Neal Maupay in good form and Danny Welbeck who scored the dramatic late equaliser at Stamford Bridge last night fit again after recovering from hamstring surgery.
With Connolly's imminent departure, the club could end the window with one less senior attacker, but the prospect of signing a new forward hasn't been entirely ruled out should Maupay or Welbeck suffer an injury.
