Brighton have made a move for SC Paderborn defender Luca Kilian.

The Premier League club will welcome back the much coveted Ben White from his loan spell with Leeds United but released Leon Balogun, 32, who had been on loan at Wigan and signed for Rangers on Friday.

Kilian is viewed as a technically adept player of potential having come up through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund before leaving for Paderborn.

Though they were relegated from the Bundesliga this season, the 20-year-old Kilian has been identified as one of their most viable assets and has emerged as an option for AC Milan and Freiburg.

The 6ft 4ins tall defender has one year left on contract and it is understood could be available for around £3million, reports the Daily Mail.
