Brighton midfielder Dale Stephens is impressed by young teammate Steven Alzate.

The youngster won his first cap with Colombia last week.

Stephens said: “He has been brilliant. We were all aware of his talent before he joined us this pre-season.

“He trained with us a couple of days here and there towards the back end of last season and everyone could see how much of a good player he was.

“The way he has done it and how it has not fazed him that has been the most impressive thing.

“When you are a young player you sort of get questioned can you really do it? Mentally more than anything.

“You can have all the ability in the world and mentally you are not quite up to it, but he seems to have that good mentality for a young player."
