Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross: I'm thankful every day I have this job

Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross recognises how lucky he is to be a pro footballer.

Gross admits he appreciates every day he's involved in the game.

He told The Sun: “I'm thankful every day that I'm allowed to wake up in the morning and can drive to the training ground and do what I love.

“I really try to tell myself every day in the car because everything gets normal after a time.

“When you start and you come to the training ground, it's unbelievable and the biggest thing. But when you do it every day, it gets normal.

“But if you really like it, you have to tell yourself every day it's something special because all my mates who I grew up with, they would love to be where I am.

“They get up in the morning and go to work for eight hours and afterwards go to training at a lower league club. They would love to be in this position."
