Brighton midfielder Davy Propper: I quit PSV over Cocu's plans

Brighton midfielder Davy Propper admits he quit PSV Eindhoven over rotations.

Propper says he chose to leave when PSV coach Phillip Cocu announced he would be rotating the midfielders before their Europa League tie with Osijek.

"Marco van Ginkel, Bart Ramselaar, Jorrit Hendrix and I. The trainer announced that he was going to rotate, which had not been discussed so clearly in the preseason, his theory was that we would play a lot of matches in a short time," Propper told Voetbal International.

"I could still understand that, but I did not expect it to be the next day.

"It was a crucial match, European football was at stake. I had a considerable downturn last year, but I was not alone, which was a bit of a problem at the time."
