Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is up for the cup.
The Mali midfielder has been impressive for the Albion in the cup this season.
But he was suspended for the quarter final, due to a yellow card he picked up against Derby.
The new rules state that cards in the FA Cup must be served in that competition, not other domestic games.
Boss Chris Hughton told The Argus: "It just goes to show that on any bookings you've got to be mindful. Can you avoid them? Some you can, some you can't.
"At least it puts him [Bissouma] in the frame to still be in this Cup competition.
"It was very disappointing (for him) because he has been playing the last few games.
"His English is getting better, he is getting more used to the way we play and the levels here.
"So I'm pleased that it puts him in the frame with everybody else."
