Brighton manager Graham Potter was impressed with the debut of Kaoru Mitoma against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The Japan winger, who spent last season on loan at Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, came on as a substitute in the 0-0 draw at the AMEX.
Potter said: "He is going to cause full-backs a problem.
"He has got that ability to go by people that is quite unique and I thought he had a fantastic impact.
"We spoke about it before the game.
"It was going to be impossible for all 11 to carry on for 90 minutes
"Our subs and the impact they had was going to be key for us.
"I thought they did it well but we couldn't get the three points. "He can mix it up and he can play from the left centrally with his right foot, come inside the pitch and drive there, so he is a bit of a nightmare for defenders.
"I wouldn't have fancied playing against him, that's for sure!"
