Brighton have launched a second bid for Shakhtar Donetsk defender Mykola Matvienko.
Brighton have submitted a new official proposal for Matvienko that has been rejected by Shakhtar, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ukrainian defender was the subject of an opening offer earlier this week that was rebuffed by Shakhtar.
Roberto De Zerbi knows the player from his time coaching his former club and is hoping to bring him to the Amex Stadium.
Talks will continue as Brighton seek to find an agreement. Shakhtar are demanding €20m to sell Matvienko.
