Brighton boss Gus Poyet is prepared to sign Kazenga LuaLua on another loan deal if a permanent deal cannot be agreed for the Newcastle winger. The 20 year old has enjoyed two previous loan spells with the Seagulls, although last season's stint was cut short by injury.
"It's not an easy one," Poyet told The Argus. "There are many options.
"My first impression was we would be able to buy him.
"It's negotiations. Things change when you negotiate. We would buy him if the numbers are right.
"They are negotiations so there is not much more I can say."
Regarding the possibility of another loan deal, Poyet added: "Yes, depending on the length of the loan. We will try and sort this out as soon as possible."
