Brighton get serious about Rangers fullback Tavenier

Brighton are readying an offer for Rangers fullback James Tavernier.

The Premier League side will test the resolve of Gers regarding their captain.

Brighton desperately want to sign defensive reinforcements, given they have lost Bruno to retirement and Exequiel Schelotto to a serious knee injury.

The 27-year-old Tavernier was stellar for Rangers last term, managing 17 goals and 20 assists as a full back.

He is wanted by the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa as well, per 90min.

While Rangers want to keep him, they know a Premier League side can offer him a much bigger contract.
