Brighton defender Dan Burn: We need fans at games

Brighton defender Dan Burn hopes the Premier League resumes with fans able to attend.

There have been suggestions that the remaining nine games of the season could be live on telly and played behind closed doors.

Burn told Sky Sports: “From a personal point of view, it would be a bit strange. I don't think you can really play football without the fans and that is what you want to grow up and do.

“You want to play in front of big stadiums, but obviously it is unprecedented the stuff that is happening at the minute, so you just have to do whatever the government and the Premier League thinks is best and take it from there."

Burn added: “The only thing you could compare it with is under-23 and under-18 games where there wasn't a lot of people there, but it was just quite eerie.

“Motivation wise it is very similar to training, so the crowd really help you with the adrenaline and to get yourself going. It feels like there is a lot more meaning behind the games.

“For us as players we want to finish the season, so we will do what needs to be done."
