Brighton defender Dan Burn delighted with second Premier League chance

Dan Burn is delighted with his second chance in the Premier League with Brighton.

The Geordie giant thought his opportunity had gone when he dropped back into League One.

Burn, 26, admitted: “If I'm honest, probably yeah. When I went to Wigan and we got relegated, I did think I was probably going to be playing in the lower leagues and Championship for the rest of my career.

“I was determined. I wanted to work hard and prove to people that I had the talent to be a Premier League footballer. I wanted to show everyone I could do that and luckily I've had the chance to do that.

“There were a lot of Championship managers who wouldn't take a chance on us, never mind the Premier League.

“I'm not silly, I haven't come here to start every game. We've got very, very good centre-halves here and I've come in to back them up and help them.

“I'm just glad to have been given the chance and I'm confident if I put in the work in training and play the way I've been playing in the games then at some point hopefully I'll get an opportunity."
