Brighton have cleared Alexis Mac Allister to appear in the Tokyo Olympics for Argentina.

The Argus reports Argentina U23 coach Fernando Batista reported the Albion midfielder has been given clearance by his club for the Games in Tokyo later this summer.

Mac Allister sat out the recent training camp in Marbella, which included two friendlies, and spent the time resting with family at home in Argentina instead.

Batista will name his initial 22-man group for Tokyo next week and will later reduce that to 18.

The tournament will cut across Albion's pre-season but could see Mac Allister return in great shape to tackle his second complete Premier League campaign.
