Brighton chief Weir explains Adingra move to Royale Union Saint-Gilloise

Brighton signing Simon Adingra has joined Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on a season-long loan.

The Seagulls signed 20-year-old Adingra last week from FC Nordsjaelland on a four-year contract.

Brighton owner Tony Bloom also owns Belgian side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

Adingra told the USG media team: "I've noticed the connection there is between the team and the supporters.

"That makes you want to give everything. I can't wait to play."

Albion technical director David Weir added: "Simon had a real breakthrough season in Denmark last season and this will give him the opportunity to build on that with regular football at a really good level.

"There's also the chance of European football, which alongside adapting to a new country and league, will help him develop as a person and a professional.

"We will be keeping close tabs on Simon's progress and look forward to seeing how he does this coming year. We wish him the best of luck."
