Brighton football chief Dan Ashworth insists Alexis Mac Allister is in their long-term plans.

Mac Allister has completed a season-long loan move to Argentinian giants Boca Juniors until 30th June 2020.

The 20-year-old joined the Seagulls in January this year, before being loaned back to Argentinos Juniors for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign, where he found the net five times in 19 Primera Division appearances last term.

Ashworth said, “Alexis is an exciting young talent and he will continue his development for the next year in his homeland, with one of Argentina's biggest clubs, playing in the Argentine first division and South America's prestigious Copa Libertadores.

“We will continue to monitor his development over the 12-month period and review his position next summer."
