Brighton captain Bruno was delighted to be part of their 1-0 win over West Ham on Friday.

The Seagulls skipper made his first appearance since being withdrawn early on from the game at Watford due to a hamstring injury, and the captain spoke about the strength of competition within the squad.

He said, “It's always a tough start when you get an injury after 15 or 20 minutes. It's the worst way to start the season.

“I had to wait formy chance and the gaffer decided to put me in [on Friday], and I was really happy to get the three points.

“Sometimes you have to wait for your chance. I have been fit for the last three or four games.

“I was on the bench for two, and outside the 18 for one game.

“But that's football, and you have to take the chance when it comes to you."
