Brighton boss Graham Potter says Jason Steele will start tonight against Carabao Cup opponents Swansea City.

Steele will start in goal with summer signing Kjell Scherpen having to wait for his debut.

Potter said: “Jason will play. Kjell has been out for a while and probably needs a bit more time in terms of starting the game.

“Jason played in the last game and was fantastic.

“He's done really well as a No 2 supporting Rob (Sanchez).

“He's a great influence in the dressing room with the boys."

Teenage centre-back Haydon Roberts will be involved, as will fit-again right-back Tariq Lamptey.
