Brighton boss Graham Potter wants his players to be brave going into the new season.
The Seagulls kick off their Premier League campaign against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
Potter told the club's website, “It's really important that we build on the good work that has already been done here and the things that worked well, whilst adding our own bits and trying to improve.
“There are solid foundations here and I've come into a group with a lot of strong qualities.
“As always, we want to try and entertain the fans if we can, the challenge is big but we also know we need to get results. Ultimately, we want to encourage the players to be themselves and to be brave."
Potter also commented on new addition Neal Maupay.
He praised how the Frenchman has settled into life on the south coast so far, as well as providing a team news update ahead of the game with Javi Gracia's side.
“Neal's settling in really well and he's been training for a couple of days with the group now.
“He's showed his quality, it's an easy group to come into because they're good lads here, and that means all of the new lads have done the same since they arrived.
“We'll see how he does between now and the weekend because he hasn't had too much game time as of yet.
“Jose Izquierdo, Yves Bissouma and Ezequiel Schelotto are the three which will be unavailable this weekend. Apart from that we have a full squad to choose from."
