Brighton boss Potter: Players must be ready to resume season

Brighton boss Graham Potter says the players must be ready to resume the season.

One unidentified Albion player yesterday tested positive for the virus and Potter himself has stayed at home after his wife displayed flu-like symptoms.

Asked how long it would take players to be ready to go, Potter said: “Not too long, I would say. The end of April is quite some time without activity and it depends on when we can start training.

“You can drive yourself mad when you are in my position, trying to second guess what is going to happen.

“Clearly there are more important things that everyone needs to concentrate on now, in terms of the right thing for the country and the right thing for the NHS.

“We just need to make sure, when it is the right time for football, we can help the country and get back to playing, when we are ready.

“It might not be perfect but we are in unprecedented times. We have to adapt and be ready."
