Brighton boss Potter: Arsenal shock key to beating drop

Brighton boss Graham Potter believes their surprise win over Arsenal set up their survival push this season.

The Seagulls are safe from relegation with just Sunday's game at Burnley to play.

Potter said, “You'd have to say the Arsenal game was the key one.

“Coming back from the lockdown, which was an incredibly tough period for lots of reasons.

“Last minute against a really good team that have since proven that.

“I think that was a big game and then the Norwich game in terms of when you see the opposition each side of that game - Man United, City and Liverpool.

“To get three points was really important.

“But to do what we've done, you have to be good over a period of time.

“I think we have been good in terms of the lockdown and how we approached things from there - the professionalism and togetherness in the group.

“We only didn't take points against the best three teams in the division so that tells you something about the resilience in the group and the quality in the group."
