Brighton boss Potter accepts transfer competition for Mooy

Brighton boss Graham Potter knows they could face competition to keep hold of Aaron Mooy.

The on-loan Aussie shone in Albion's 2-0 win over Bournemouth.

His recent run of form on loan from Huddersfield will be impressing potential suitors.

Albion boss Potter said: “That's not a concern because it means things have gone well.

“It's better that happens rather than a player doesn't get any game time and the loan hasn't worked for anybody.

“Sometimes you have to be confident in what you are doing in terms of how we are asking Aaron to play and whether that benefits his career.

“Then whether he is settled at the club, whether he enjoys his football. They are all important things.

“And whether he is an important part of what we are doing here – and I think you can see he is.

“With all these relationships, it has to work for the club he belongs to and for us and for the player.

“The clubs have to agree what happens.

“Always, as a coach, my focus is to help him enjoy his football and fit into the team.

“We have done that so far and we want that to continue."
