Brighton boss Roberto de Zerbi admits Robert Sanchez asked not to be considered for Sunday's win at Arsenal.
Sanchez has lost his first-choice status this season under De Zerbi, with the Italian preferring Jason Steele.
De Zerbi insists the Spain goalkeeper wasn't dropped in the traditional sense.
He stated today: “He decided everything.
"Robert decided everything at that moment. Not me, not the club. He wanted it that way (not travel to be on the bench). We talked before the Arsenal game and we decided together that the best solution was to stay at home."
