Brighton are battling Celtic for Wigan Athletic midfielder Nick Powell.

The Sun says Celtic are willing to offer Wigan ace Powell a lucrative deal to head to Glasgow.

Brendan Rodgers is ready to sanction a swoop in January or next summer.

Powell is out of contract at the DW Stadium in June and will be able to walk away for nothing.

Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion are also in the race, despite Powell snubbing them last term.
