Brighton academy coach tells young defenders: Learn from the internationals!

Brighton academy coach Simon Rusk says that his youngsters should learn from the example of their senior internationals.

The club have many talented young defenders on the books, including Ben White and Ben Barclay.

But they have a lot to learn if they are to match the standards of senior internationals such as Lewis Dunk and Leon Balogun.

And Rusk wants them to learn from the likes of Dunk - who recently got a call up to the England squad.

Rusk told The Argus: "There are some good centre-halves for the lads to take a lot from.

"This will certainly encourage the lads to take a look at Dunky's qualities and Duffy's qualities and see if they can draw on that and improve their own game off the back of that.

"I'm delighted for Lewis. He absolutely deserves it and it gives everyone at the club a boost.

"There are a lot of people at the club like (coach) Vic Bragg, who has been here a long time.

"I think it is really nice for people like Vic to see that reward for Dunky."
