Premier League club Brentford have vowed to stand by Ivan Toney and help him through this moment in his career.
Toney is starting an eight month ban from the sport for more than 200 betting violations.
A report this week revealed the FA's full reasons for the sanction, as it stated Toney was suffering from a gambling addiction and even bet on his own team during games where he was absent from action.
The commission wrote: “If it was [match-fixing], the charges would have been pursued under different provisions. There is no evidence that Mr Toney did, or was even in a position to influence, his own team to lose when he placed bets against them winning. He was not in the squad or eligible to play at the time."
Toney's club have put out a public statement supporting their star striker.
However, Toney will be absent from action until at least the start of January.
