Brentford's players have pledged to take wage-cuts as clubs continue to feel the financial strain caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bees were pushing for a promotion spot in the Championship before football was suspended earlier this month.
Thomas Frank's side are ten points off second-placed Leeds United.
The Mirror says they will now become the first club in England to take pay-cuts, as discussions with the EFL and PFA continue.
The players will now earn a maximum of £5,000-a-week.
