Brentford midfielder Eriksen sees light side after being struck by coin: Maybe they wanted to buy my shirt?

Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen was shocked to be struck by a coin thrown in the aftermath of Denmark's friendly defeat to Holland last night.

Eriksen scored in a game which marked his first international since suffering a cardiac arrest at last summer's Euros.

The Dane was hit in the back by a coin when giving a post-match interview and commented: "Luckily it hits me on the back. I saw well that they threw something before and then it hit me.

"It's just idiocy. It's so stupid to have to stand and toss coins, and I do not know what the point is.

"It may be that he wanted to buy a shirt and that was why he threw the coin down there! It could also be that he was angry about the goal."
