Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet is being linked with a move to the English Championship this summer.
Brentford are likely to lose star striker Ivan Toney in the coming transfer window, especially if they do not gain promotion to the Premier League.
According to The Scottish Sun, if Brentford sell Toney to a Premier League side, they are likely to turn to Hibs star Nisbet.
The Scottish international has 17 goals and eight assists this term, and is being watched by several teams in Europe.
Nisbet was the subject of a bid from Birmingham City in January, but Hibs turned down close to £2.5 million.
Brentford would have to go higher than that figure to secure the player.
