Brentford are closing in on the signing of Aaron Hickey from Bologna this week.

According to The Guardian, the Scotland defender will fly to England on Tuesday to undergo a medical.

The Bees are paying a significant fee for the flyer's services, with the transfer fee totalling £18.9 million.

The 20-year-old joined Bologna from Hearts only two years ago, and has impressed in Serie A since then.

Hickey, who is a left-back, played 48 times for the club, starting 34 league games last term.

Arsenal have previously been linked with Hickey.
