Brentford boss Frank: We'll start losing ground on Newcastle

Brentford boss Thomas Frank accepts they face losing ground on weekend opponents Newcastle United.

The Bees travel to St James' Park a point behind the hosts after eight Premier League games.

However, there is a considerable disparity in the ambitions of the two club particularly since Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund took an 80% stake in the Magpies after they completed a £305million takeover on this day last year.

"If we have the money we have now, they have their money and we continue doing that (path), if we are the same level at the same time, it will be an even bigger miracle than it is now that we are competing," Frank said.

"Of course we know in football money talks. It is a very important part and that is one thing but the very good news is it is not only about money."
