Brentford boss Frank impressed by Rooney tactics for Derby fight-back

Brentford boss Thomas Frank was full of praise for Derby County rival Wayne Rooney after last night's 2-2 draw.

The Bees were 2-0 ahead before a tactical change by Manchester United legend Rooney saw the Rams fight back to earn a point.

Frank said, "It was clearly a match of two halves. I think we were absolutely fantastic in the first half. Perhaps one of the best halves we played so far this season. Totally in control with and without the ball and we could have been ahead by more than two.

"We talked during the break that we had to keep the pace. We knew they were coming flying out. They switched three players so we knew something was going to happen.

"Then they got a goal after just one minute, so it was a championship blow by Wayne Rooney and his staff, and it was well deserved. I definitely think they deserve some respect because they did what they did to change things."
