Bowen admits Stoke have big ambitions

Stoke City No2 Mark Bowen says they have big ambitions this season.

Bowen believes Stoke's signings of Phil Bardsley, Steve Sidwell, Mame Diouf, Dionatan Teixeira and new-boy Bojan Krkic means the Potters have also strengthened.

"Mark (Hughes) has been criticised for it in the past, but he does not dampen down expectations and he is happy to say to people that we are not just trying to stay in the league, we are trying to do better," Bowen told TalkSport.

"We finished ninth last year and we will look to do better next year.

"We feel that we have added four or five quality players to strengthen the squad and make us better."
