AFC Bournemouth captured their second win of their Premier League career with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.
Eddie Howe's Cherries scored twice inside 10 minutes to get off to a flyer before holding Dick Advovaat's hapless Black Cats at bay at the Vitality Stadium.
Callum Wilson scored his fifth goal of the season when he held off Younes Kaboul to receive a through ball from Dan Gosling before firing beyond Costel Pantilimon in just the fourth minute.
It was a fine effort from the Dorset club's leading scorer but nowhere near as spectacular as Matt Ritchie's volley in the ninth minute which will take a lot of beating for Goal of the Year honours.
Jeremain Lens' front post clearance from a corner fell nicely for winger Ritchie who controlled with his chest before hitting sumptuous effort with his trusty left foot into Pantilimon's top right corner.
With just over 15 minutes remaining, Black Cats defender Kaboul was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence which made Sunderland's mammoth task even more difficult.
The win has Bournemouth sitting 14th on the table with seven points while Sunderland find themselves holding up the other 19 clubs having drawn just two of their six outings.

QUOTES CORNER
Sunderland's Advocaat on his side's poor display:
"I'm very angry with the way we started the game. We started playing at 2-0 down but by then it is too late. I'm very, very angry with the players - although it is not the first time."
Bournemouth's Howe on the importance of a home win:
"I think today was a really important day for us. Our home form, every season, is hugely important."
