Bournemouth is set to make a last-ditch attempt to sign QPR forward Charlie Austin reports the Daily Mirror.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe wants to add another striker to his squad and has turned his attention to the QPR ace after failing to sign Norwich City's Lewis Grabban.

Manchester United, though, have emerged as favourites to sign the England international according to various reports in national newspapers.

The 26-year-old, who scored 18 goals for QPR last season, is in his last year of contract at Loftus Road, but the R's are adamant on their £15million asking price.
