Bournemouth striker Wilson 'perfect for Chelsea manager Sarri' - Cundy

Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy says that Callum Wilson would be an ideal signing for the Blues under Maurizio Sarri.

It is not a secret that Chelsea want to sign an attacker in the January window.

They are unhappy with Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud as the only options.

And now it appears that Cundy is recommending Wilson as a signing.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Cundy said: "It's still early days but he's starting to reach the same sort of levels even if it's only ten games where he is now starting to score the sort of goals that will start to catch the eye.

"He's going to catch the eye. He's got an eye for goal, I love his industry and he works incredibly hard.

"Let's not forget he's had two bad injuries and he's had the mental strength to come back from those devastating knee injuries.

"A potential international in the future? I don't doubt that for a second.

"If he carries on the way he is I think Southgate would be mad to ignore him, mad!

"So the question is who will look to sign him in January before his stock rises to a ridiculous level?

"I'm looking at my club, Chelsea. We've got two No.9's in Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud. Neither of them are holding down a regular spot.

"And I think with the way Chelsea are playing under Maurizio Sarri, Callum Wilson would be perfect for Chelsea. Perfect!

"He can spin in behind, he's got an eye for goal and he's an intelligent player."
