Joshua King has revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson never talked to him during his formative years at with Manchester United.
The 23-year-old, who scored the winner in the Cherries' 2-1 win over the Red Devils on Saturday, spent four years with United's senior setup before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 2013.
Norway international King admits it was a shock that Fergie hardly spoke with him, especially just before he left the club.
"He didn't say a word," King told the Daily Mail.
"I don't know why. We didn't speak. It surprised me. Not that he didn't speak to the youngsters much, he'd catch a joke and that when you saw him in the corridor in between training sessions.
"He was a great guy, good eye for football. But he expected a lot from the young players. You play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, he always wanted high tempo, high level of performance and professionalism. I was a bit surprised he didn't say anything the day before I left though."
