Manchester United have a shortlist of three players to sign in central defence.
The Red Devils want a partner for Harry Maguire, with Victor Lindelof still not convincing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
ESPN says United have Nathan Ake, Tyrone Mings and Alessio Romagnoli as the three options for the summer transfer window.
United want a left footed player so Maguire can play on the right side of central defence, where he is more comfortable.
Solskjaer believes adding one of those players would increase competition for places and give them more depth, especially if they sell Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
Mings and Ake could be available for low fees if their clubs, Bournemouth and Aston Villa, are relegated.
Romagnoli has impressed in Serie A this term with Milan.
