Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake explains why he decided to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer.
Ake is most certainly a very highly rated defender and as a result, it was a bit surprising to see Chelsea allowing the 22-year-old to leave Stamford Bridge for Bournemouth on a permanent basis this summer.
The Dutchman has revealed he thought his chances of earning regular minutes on the pitch at Stamford Bridge would be limited next season due to the presence of so many world class players at the club.
He said: "Every footballer wants to play but I know it was going to be difficult to get in a winning team with world class players.
"I developed a lot and felt myself growing with world class players every day. I learnt a lot but of course I wanted to play."
