Bournemouth defender Adam Smith is set to see a knee specialist.

Smith suffered a knee injury during a defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.

He was stretchered off the pitch and will get a proper assessment before the club decides on the next steps, per Sky Sports News.

Given there is still swelling in his knee, it may take some time before a proper scan can be done to see the extent of the damage.

Despite losing to Newcastle, Bournemouth are still 6th in the Premier League.
