Bournemouth are planning a bid for Reading youngster Omar Richards.

The Sun says Cherries boss Eddie Howe is prepared to move quickly to land the left-back when the January window opens.

Richards' expiring contract means he could move for just £2million, with Derby also interested after his display against them in the Championship before the international break.

Scouts are expected to continue monitoring the ex-Fulham Academy player's progress through the season.

His displays at left-back have seen him compared to England star Ashley Cole after just a handful of appearances.
