Bournemouth owner Eddie Mitchell goaded his critics at the end of the Cherries 3-0 home defeat to Chesterfield on Saturday. Mitchell, who has incensed some fans by selling the majority of the side which made the League One play-offs last term, took to the field with a microphone and passed comment to the fans.
Some reports have suggested the 57-year-old incited the angry pockets of fans, but he insists that is not the case.
"I think it has been overcooked a bit. The supporters had their say and I had mine," he told the Bournemouth Echo.
"What happened, happened. If I can't walk on to the pitch and clap the supporters after all I have done for the club then there is something wrong, isn't there?
"To me, it was nothing. I have forgotten all about it."
