Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes that it was a no brainer to sign Nathaniel Clyne.
The English right back was first choice at Liverpool before he suffered a long term injury last season.
While he is back fit, getting into the Reds team was difficult for him.
And now he has a chance to get regular game time at the Cherries till the end of the season.
"It was a good performance from Nathaniel," said Howe to the Daily Echo of Clyne's first appearance in the FA Cup against Brighton.
"It's very difficult when you come in and you haven't had a training session with your team-mates but he fitted in well.
"I think he learned on the job of how we play and defensively he was excellent.
"We needed a right-back with the injuries we had to Simon Francis and Adam Smith. As soon as the window opened it was a position we were looking to strengthen in.
"Nathaniel was the obvious candidate, a player of huge experience and undoubted ability."
