Bournemouth defender Rhoys Wiggins has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury during a loan spell at ChampionshipBirmingham City.

Left-back Wiggins, 28, was stretchered off during the Blues' 1-1 derby draw against Aston Villa on Sunday.

"I'm devastated for Rhoys," Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe said.

"It seems serious, so he's seen a specialist and has been booked in for an operation, we have to wait for the swelling to go down on his knee first."
