Bournemouth central defender Tyron Mings believes that racism is much easier now that people can hide beyond anonymous screen names on social media.
Mings shared an article speaking about an individual being punished for racially abusing and attacking Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.
In return, Mings was abused by many on Twitter, and he had the following response:
"You get 16 weeks for this but on social media it's all too easy to be racist," tweeted Mings.
"Just hide behind a fake picture, fake details and get away with it?"
For its part, Twitter is attempting to make changes that make racism and other type of abuse harder for perpetrators to get away with.
