Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake insists he never allowed transfer talk to affect him last month.
He told the Daily Echo: “I was always focused on Bournemouth anyway so it didn't really affect me.
“These transfer situations, there is always going to be talk and stuff like that and people expect you to leave.
“But the only thing you can do is perform on the pitch, train every day as hard as you can and see what happens.
“Nothing happened, so we go again."
Ake believes that speculation is par for the course of being a Premier League player.
“I think you just have to accept it. I think it has been over the past few years now," he added.
“You can't do anything about the articles being written and things like that. You just have to remain focused, don't let it distract you and just keep going.
“Sometimes you see stuff on social media. I am not going to deny that but I am mentally strong enough to deal with that."
